Cheryl's Mini Bio

I graduated from UMF in 1978 with a Liberal Arts degree. In 1979, I married Curt and we started a family. Jessie was born that same year and I became a full time mom. In 1983 I returned to work, finding employment at Baskin Robbins in Brunswick as night supervisor and cake decorator. That job turned out to be a disappointment - all responsibility and no pay - so I found a position open at L.L.Bean in Freeport and started working there in the Fall of 1983. My son was born in the spring of 1984, and our family was complete.

MY Interests?

I enjoy:

  • Disney World!!! & camping
  • crafts
  • cooking
  • traveling
  • fishing
Every year we put in a vegetable garden and can our produce. Usually we end up with an over-abundance of green & yellow snap beans, so we can them for the winter. We add tomatoes, carrots, beets, pickles, jam, and whatever berries we pick that year to our canning cupboard also. Peach jam anyone?

My husband and I enjoy going to Disney World and have taken our family there many times. Some years we have really gone on a "shoestring". I have found some web sites that help with cutting costs when traveling to Disney and I have included them under "my favorite links" at the bottom section of my web page.

Dogs

We have had 2 dogs share our life's journey so far:

Francois was a black cockapoo who lived with us for over 13 years. He had more energy than 6 dogs! No one could get a ball past him if it was within his reach! He was quite a frisbee king as well. He passed away of old age. We got him from the shelter, so we were never sure how old he actually was.

Mandy, our golden retriever is our current household companion. She also loves to play ball, though she is not as hyper as Francois. She loves riding in the car and in the boat. We take her fishing with us and she has a great time standing in the bow of the boat. Every time we have to take her to the Vet, afterwards we take her to get ice cream, so she loves going to the Vet. Unfortunately, we found out this spring that Mandy had been bitten by a lyme tick. She is currently on antibiodics and so far has not shown symptoms of lyme disease. Please be careful - lyme disease appears to be spreading throughout Maine!
